Bernie Sanders has quit the Democrats and will return to life as an independent senator after losing the race for the party's presidential nomination to Hillary Clinton.
Sanders was an independent before running for president and appeared uncomfortable calling himself a Democrat during his campaign.
'I was elected as an independent. I’ll stay two years more as an independent,' the socialist told Bloomberg, referring to the time left in his term as a senator in Vermont.

Makes Sanders an even bigger phony than I thought he was when after running to fight a rigged system he endorsed Her Heinous who beat him because she rigged a system. By leaving the party after the endorsement, he affirms that he took some kind of payoff for it.
Or true he got threatened by Hillary and the DNC.

So, let me get this straight: in his speech at the convention he calls for unity in the Democrat Party, encouraging his followers to stick with the Democrats so they can all defeat Trump - then after his call for unity, he quits the Party?
So Bernie was nothing more than a whore, who would have thunk it.
He’s got his payoff stashed away. Tough luck for his true believers. Maybe they learned something about Bernie, as well as Hellery.
Sanders should run as independent and show Hitlery votes without super delegates.
He's still the ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, and was Chairman of the Veterans Affair Committee.
If he was truly independent, he would not have any seniority in the Senate.
