There are no doubt very brave and capable men in the French armed forces. That’s not the problem. The problem is that the French people have no stomach for a fight. They have not since the bloodletting at Verdun a century ago.

Falkenhayn accomplished exactly what he intended at Verdun; he destroyed France’s will to fight. Alas, he succeeded only too well.

Do not post often and please don't take this as a dig. Just trying for a reset of sorts. I served with many French in AF and they fought with honor. Saw many soldier farewells out of Kabul.
