Just a few miles down the road in DuPage My $300,000 (?Zillow) house, I pay OVER $7,000 !!!

We lived in DuPage many moons ago. A lot of our friends are gone now too. We live in a nice suburb in Dixie now with some of the highest property taxes in the state. Still, only about 1% of market value per year (vs. 5-7% up there)

I pay double what you pay, I wish my property taxes were only 7K a year

My house on Long Island is valued at $300,000... taxes @ $10,000+....
Of course we have the highest paid teachers and police in the world... most making $100,000+ with pensions at or close to $100,000... with great medical as well!
Once my daughter graduates... I am outta here...
