Let the logic sink in for a while. Kaine, as a Catholic, has a personal opposition to abortion. But he votes in the Senate to preserve it and fund it (Planned Parenthood).

From Wiki: In psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental stress or discomfort experienced by an individual who holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values at the same time, performs an action that is contradictory to one or more beliefs, ideas, or values, or is confronted by new information that conflicts with existing beliefs, ideas, or values.

The last time I checked being a Catholic was a free choice in America. Similarly, running for elected office is a free choice. Senator Kaine needs to choose between being a Catholic and being a Democrat. Otherwise, he is simply an opportunist who places his career ahead of his principles.

I for once would love to see a Republican candidate for office declare they are personally 100% pro-infanticide, but would never dream of forcing their viewpoint on others, and hence vote 100% pro-life.

Kaine’s religion is Socialism, and his voting record and agenda in office, as Richmond Mayor, VA Lt Governor, Governor and U.S. Senator has reflected that. He’s the most radically leftist Governor and U.S. Senator in Virginia history, a 100% perfect lifetime moonbat ultraleft score from the ACU.
