It may be a Southern California thing. The show (with puppets) aired in the 50s. I don’t know if it showed nation wide. There was an animated version later on that probably did. Cecil, the SeaSick Sea Serpent, was basically a sock with eyes, mouth and fins on top. You never got to see the tail.
Being of a certain age, I loved that show when I was a kid in Riverside.
It was on ABC, I saw it in AZ when I was a kid. I think it was nationwide.
