I heartily disagree, and I think Trump has made it clear, I heard him say several times he will go after Hitlery, and Bergdahl, and “others”. I have little doubt he agrees with Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn:
In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations.
I sympathize with the sentiments. Of course evil should be punished. But the country is facing serious existential problems that need immediate attention. Looking backward isn’t going to fix them. We need leadership that is forward looking and committed to producing results, not just empty talk and rhetoric.
The Clintons have sufficient resources to fund an army of legal expertise and drag this out for many years. The American attention span is limited; at some point they will just get tired of hearing about it.
Again, I would love to see them pay for their crimes and corruption but real justice is hard to come by as we witness all too often.
