Many FReepers who frequent the Canteen threads might know MeekMom (known to many as Kristin). MeekMom passed away on July 15, 2016, at the age of 50. She was born March 11, 1966 in Indianapolis, IN and passed away at home in Valparaiso, IN of natural causes.
Besides her sweet and loving Maine Coon cat Elsa, who lived with her, she leaves behind one son, her parents, one brother and one sister; as well as a niece and nephew who she loved dearly. She also leaves behind countless friends she made over the years online. But she spoke often of Free Republic's founder Jim Robinson as a "dear sweet man" and FR's own Kathy In Alaska, who she considered her online "Ma".
Kristin was Conservative to the core and a traditionalist at heart. She loved this country and it's military and she admired anyone who shared her values and principles and love of the LORD.
Kristin lived her life at it's fullest, despite what life threw at her; whether it was years of depression or struggling with the small fiber sensory neuropathy she acquired later in her life.
Besides the countless friendships she made on FR, her love of classical music, movies from yesteryear, Hercule Poirot, Alfred Hitchcock films, Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie novels sustained her.
She will be missed immensely by those who knew her. May Kristin (MeekMom) Rest In Eternal Peace.
Rest in peace, FRiend.
May she rest in God’s eternal peace.
Though our hearts are broken we can be encouraged that Kristen is being escorted by the chiors of Saints and Angels to a place where there are no more tears and is no more suffering.
Eternal rest grant unto Kristen O Lord
and
May perpetual light shine upon her
May Kristen’s soul
And all the souls
of the faithfully departed
through the Mercy of God
Rest in peace
Amen.
Kristin would call us her prayer Angels.Kathy and the Gang would send out private Freepmail when her pain got so bad.Everybody would start praying and she would feel better.Even just to drop her a kind note, she would be so grateful. She suffered so much.Rest in Peace Kristin
and I was thinking of you last night. You were with God and your pain was over,God bless,Fatima
I felt so badly reading the PMs prayer requests with her immense pain. Poor gal. She’s home now but too young to die. Thanks for thread BSF and letting us know
Another FRiend lost, my prayers for her family. Her pain is over but that of her family and friends is now and raw. May God give them all the comfort for their broken hearts. I did not know this brave lady but from all the comments she was a brave and unique soul. God bless.
May the Lord accept her Soul in Heaven and forgive her sins. God Bless
Lord Jesus Christ, rest Thy servant with the saints and the angels.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.
Thanks Sky for letting us know about Kristin. So young.
Prayers for family and friends, and may God be with her.
RIP, Kristin
Condolences and prayers for Kristen and family
May the Lord hold Kristin in the hollow of His hand. Amen.

It stinks that we here on Earth have to deal with the loss of a dearly loved friend. Even so, the good news...indeed, the best news...is that she’s free from pain, she’s with the Lord, and someday we’ll see her again.
I didn’t know her here, but as a believer, I’ll know her someday.
Rest easy, Sister in Christ and fellow FRiend.
I am in total shock and have such a heavy heart with this news. I always PM’d her when I read a prayer request. She was always so kind and loving. She had so much pain.. especially at night. Yet... her demeanor was always so pleasant and sweet. I would write that I am praying for her and you know what? She would pray for me as well. Damn.... The only good part of this news is I know she is no longer in pain. Heaven scored a doll. Dearest Kristin: Sleep well with the angels, Love. You will be missed and thought of by your FReeper family. (((Hugs))) Mom
Kristin and I had regular correspondence on FR, and prayed for each other. I just heard from her last week...I am in shock over this.
She is out of pain now and safe in the arms of Jesus.
RIP to a dear FRiend.
Prayers and condolences for the family.
Another one joins the Saintly Choir. And another name is added to the FR memorial wall.
Thanks for the time you spent with us, MeekMom. “Blessed are the meek ...”
God bless you, Kristin.
Mao very sorry to hear of this...and only 50?
Rest in Peace, Kristin!
A couple months ago, Kristin and I were chatting on Facebook and she always wanted to know what was going on in my world, it didn’t matter how mundane. I told her at the time that my mom was scheduled for back surgery on the 12th of July and she was going to undergo pre-op tests. She wanted to know the exact day and time of the surgery and I said I would let her know as soon as I knew. Couple days later I let Kristin know when mom’s surgery was and Kristin wrote it down in her day planner calendar and she said she would be praying non-stop for mom on that day. Day of the surgery arrives and I tell Kristin that mom is in surgery. Kristin prayed non-stop for 3 hours just for my mother. She always had the kindness for strangers.
She prayed for me, even if I was just going to the grocery store.
I’ve known Kristin since 2004 and for much of that time, I knew what she was struggling with and she always relied on me for prayer. As time went on, I found out she mentioned two others who prayed for her. I’m overwhelmed after her passing to find out that she literally enlisted an Army of Prayer Warriors to pray for her!
I spent countless hours on the phone and on Facebook with her, always with the feeling that I wasn’t doing enough or that I wasn’t pulling my weight.
I often prayed that she woul be healed from the affliction that caused her so muc pain. Now she is free of thst pain Rest on God’s arns, sweet Kristin.
