Cruz is supposed to be brilliant. I haven’t seen any evidence of that so far this election cycle.

He had some brilliant aspects and a lot of stupid ones. His campaign organization and strategy worked pretty well, sans Trump in the race. He ultimately destroyed himself with an arrogance that is going to cost him dearly moving forward. He’s a real jerk when it comes down to it, and not nearly self-aware as one needs to be to know when to change.
He’s also supposed to be a solid constitutionalist. His votes regarding the treaty with Iran says otherwise.
