If you took time to watch the Republican National Convention you might have noticed a song or two from your favorite artist being blasted over the speakers at Quicken Loans Arena.
Music has become the backdrop for this election season and some artists have welcomed the usage of their work by presidential candidates while others have been totally disgusted by it.
Since Donald Trump's announcement to run for presidency in 2015 several artists have come out against the nominee's use of their music.

They better get on the Trump BANDwagon.
I hope that these folks have a "Plan B" for what they plan to do after Trump wins. I never heard of any of them; their version of music is "noise" to me. So they will not lose my business because it does not exist.
Other former fans may rethink their loyalty after they see how bigoted and biased and ignorant are these artists who ignore the First Amendment.
Kinda like the joke:
Young lady, we already know what you are, what we doing now is bickering about the price.
They should have gotten permission to use Jimmy Rose’s Coal Keeps the Lights on. Would have been a good swipe at DUMBO’s EPA coal regs that have destroyed the industry and killed thousands of good paying jobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZDBUfB7npw
Why do you think Elvis bought the copyrights to any song he sang? Dolly would not sell him the rights to one of hers and reaps plenty of royalty checks from those she grants permission to sing it. Even Whitney had to pay to use the song. ‘I Will Always Love You’ after discovering that she would have to sign over half of the publishing rights for the song if Elvis did it. Dolly has brains for business.

Are political views a protected class under the anti-discrimination laws of the state?
I don't know of any of them who have threatened to sue, just a demand that he stop using the songs. And if the politicians had bought the public performance license then why do they stop using them?
This is the Chronicle’s way of saying “Do NOT vote for Trump—all these bands you love hate Trump!” Cheap political trick, done routinely.
Media collusion with dems. Over 50 media outlets used the word “dark” to describe Trump’s speech as “dark”. 1 minute of CNN coverage over the DNC leaks, 28 minutes first DAY on Trump’s wife speech having a line like Mrs. O.
Screw the lying media!
GO TRUMP!!
Rock ‘n’ roll rebels! In lockstep with the President and the rest of the DNC machine. Fight the power!
Yep, it seems that way...
Didn't We Almost Have It All- Whitney Houston
Computer World - Kraftwerk
Catch Me I’m Falling - Pretty Poison
It’s My Party and I will cry if I want too
That one would fit very well with the DNC Convention
Oh, Don Henley’s Dirty Laundry!
Amen!
Eff’m all.
