Surprised she didn't wear her shoes. Melania's dress sold out within a few hours after her speech
By New York standards that is very moderately priced.
pretty cool
She would look spectacular in a 20 dollar dress from Target. She doesn’t need to spend 5 grand on a pantsuit like Cankles(and she still looks crap)
When she sauntered onto the stage last night, my heart skipped a beat.
A vision of beauty.
God bless her.
I listened to her introduction of her father and to her father’s acceptance speech while driving from Michigan to Virginia. So, only this morning have I had a chance to actually put the visual together with the audio.
Her introduction and the entire Trump family was a tremendous endorsement. Donald’s own acknowledgement of his family was also a nice touch. The idea that Donald Trump is some kind of a monster is belied by the his own family, a blended family, a many people know how easy it is for children of rich and of blended families to be spoiled and/or insecure.
As for the Donald, his acceptance speech was in the same league as Nixon’s and McCain’s 1968 and 2008 acceptance speeches; that is, among the very best of my lifetime. Maybe even the best. Maybe I’m over-reacting, but I think Trump is going to pile up a 1988-type victory, with a 10-point margin and the appearance of a landslide on the map. All the Red and all the Purple States.
Now, having seen enough of the visuals, I can say the following: Ivanka was impressive, but I like Tiffany’s speech even more. I’m o.k. with Ivanka saying she’s not a Republican, but I preferred Donny Junior’s and Erich’s solidly conservative presentations. Thinking about the Trump family as an entirety, I think the range of personalities and perspectives was simply perfect. Of course Melania is going to be impressed by Michelle Obama. Melania is an immigrant and what she sees in Michelle is an American. Projecting U.S. racial problems outside our country is ridiculous. And men tend to be conservative and women compassionate, reflecting God’s design. We need each other.
I didn’t notice the shoes (stiletto heels) when I saw the speech. I did notice her simple dress and modest use of make-up and accessories. This contrasted with Melania’s standard perfection and Tiffany’s youth and enthusiasm. It was all good. As a mother and business professional, Ivanka has to be realistic about her appearance. I agree with the writer of the New York Post, that she was “unassuming, vaguely sexy.” Being of my generation, I will just say that Sophia Loren was so awesomely beautiful, she too could turn a simply dress into something “vaguely sexy,” and also make a spectacular entrance when the occasion called for it.
I think America will enjoy a Trump presidency.
One last thing. I like the way Newt turned around Ted Cruz’ non-endorsement. Donald Trump apologized for his attacks on Cruz’ family, and he is not going to do that again. Cruz should have accepted Trump’s apology and moved on. Trump has moved on. Politics ain’t tidily-winks. When you enter the ring, you have to be prepared at all times.
She would make anything look really good.
I hope the Ivanka Trump fashion group did a few extra runs on that dress. It’s gonna sell like hotcakes, even to women who won’t (cough) look quite to good.
I love it!
Very smart girl. :)
I LOVE the rules around here. But I love Melania bestest.
Do you know who the shoes are (designed/made) by?
