On the final night of a convention filled with mishaps -- of the plagiarism, non-endorsement varieties -- Donald Trump painted a bleak picture of America, even as he officially accepted the Republican party's nomination for presidency.
His name was stamped in bold font across the convention hall jumbotron as he walked on stage. "I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States," Trump began his speech. He paused for a moment before departing from his prepared remarks to join the audience in chanting: "USA! USA! USA!"
At this point, Trump couldn't help but gloat a little over his victory in the primary race.
"Who would have believed that when we started this journey on June 16th of last year we - and I say 'we' because we are a team - would have received almost 14 million votes, the most in the history of the Republican Party," he said, "and that the Republican Party would get 60 percent more votes than it received four years ago." He noted that the Democratic party's primary voter turnout rates were "not so good."
The billionaire proceeded to lay out a dark vision of America: "Our convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation. The attacks on our police, and the terrorism in our cities, threaten our very way of life."
"Americans watching this address tonight have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities," he continued. "Many have witnessed this violence personally. Some have even been its victims."
"I have a message for all of you," he said. "The crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon -- and I mean very soon -- come to an end. Beginning on January 20th 2017, safety will be restored."

They can't help themselves, this is their minute by minute reality.
Hilliary on the other hand MUST come off as the complete opposite.
When she says, “We're better than this” she is channeling Obama’s, “Hey, that's not who we are”, that's not us...etc.
Due to the fact that the media have been pulling our strings since the 1940s, it is taking them time to come to terms with the new VOTER/CITIZEN reality that it is WE THE PEOPLE who determine our future, not the “Pundits”.
When we look back at the DEMI-G-ds of yesteryear we MUST now see those TRUSTWORTHY journalists such as Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkrite, Eric Severide, Don Chancellor, Chet Huntley, David Brinkley, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather and so many other HONEST(?), CREDIBLE(?), INTEGRITY-BASED(?) as journalists with a bias.
We were always brainwashed, from the Cold War to JFKs assassination and of course, the Vietnam war. Thank G-d we now have alternatives! WE THE PEOPLE are on the move, pushing against an entrenched establishment, GO DONALD, GO!!!
The left sees Trump as dark because he has the courage to actually describe the current situation.
The left much prefers the typical mealy mouthed, milquetoast eunuchs that the GOP usually nominates.
They know they have trouble because Hillary is just an evil witch, and there ain’t enough lipstick to dress up that pig.
Well, Hillary absolutely delivers a dark image. And a dark soul. And a dark plan.
Media plagiarizing the DNC talking points.
Don’t forget dystopian. What are the chances that so many of the pundits last night would come up with that one.
“It wasnt a dark vision, it was a dark portrait.
That’s right. But they got their talking points and had to ignore the truth of it.
Me neither. Shut them down. The whole mess is still about overthrowing TRUMP.
Last night the meme was this “dark vision” stuff.
Their problem is we are LIVING this dark vision and TRUMP is going to attempt to FIX it.
That is their grave fear. The media and the Marxists of the land are in terror of TRUMP’s big foot!
More like doom and gloom for the rats and the dole collectors.
The darkness business was already baked in the media cake before TRUMP arrived in the hall.
Yes! It began with the very first remark from Jake Tapper following TRUMP’s speech on CNN, at our house. It was everywhere way to prepared.
Van Jones let the cat out of the bag, using the term before Trump spoke.
'Dark' has the undertones of evil, satanic and malicious..... It is the exact MO of the democratic party to take who they are, what they do, what they are, who they give their spiritual allegiance to.... and suggest that this describes 'the other guys'. The media was waiting last night with bated breath and halfway through Trump's speech the email blast was received from the democratic party.... "the word to describe the speech is "DARK". Us it in your first sentence and use it in every sentence afterwards."
My college student showed me all the social media sites that target his age group and that gave updates on the republican convention. They all were working the same talking points including the insufferable comedy central guy that replaced John Stewart.
1) Plagiarism by Trumps wife was good because she took it from Obama’s wife and was kind and gentle
2) Evil white men are generating a state of fear, America has never been safer based on crime statistics
3) Black men that spoke sounded just like the evil white men
4) Terrorist really have not killed that many people since 9/11 so they are overreacting on open borders
5) These republicans need to lighten up and be more optimistic about how great America is doing
The fact that most of these streaming sites were word for word on their assessment shows how the DNC controls the dumbed down college students that are the primary consumers of this information. Not one of them gave any real air-time on what was actually said and used the standard video editing techniques perfected by Stewart to ridicule the speakers. It was very obvious how they were trying to spin it and is being mirrored by the corporate media drones.
“Dark” is being used all over the lib world...it almost seems the orders went out.
If ever there was a secret code-word / dog whistle, it has to be the word “dark.” Now the secret orders are buried in each article using “dark.”
problem is, people LOVE DARK, it's part of the Star Wars verbiage.
There can be no bigger mishap then to nominate a corrupt criminal as your nominee. She is the dirtiest bitch on two legs.
Well in their boss’s world it is dark, and drunk...Hillary is the worse person anyone could work for, I can’t even imagine what it would be like...
Trump on the other hand, oh yeah, even working on his campaign has been great...you just feel the excitement, you feel a part of you that you never knew you had in you, and you know without a doubt, you can do better...
It’s the Trump brand...it’s just is there....
And Laura Ingraham did the Nazi salute and “law and order” is a dog whistle. ROFL
oops...
“...way *too* prepared.”
The left are the ones supporting the cop killers and the muslim terrorists who are causing the havoc. Trump's not the problem, he's the solution to the problem.
The left are the ones making excuses for the Orlando shooter as they squirm uncomfortably with whether to take sides with the "poor oppressed" muslim mass murderer or the 70+ gay people he killed. It must be awkward. But alas...
I think using logic, they don't understand logic. They think they "think with their hearts", but they don't. They think with their sphincters and their EBT cards.
The darkness is going to end, and the sun will once again shine on America. If that doesn't make you happy, hit the road, you aren't welcome in my country any more.
-- an America where men are men and women are women; an America where immigrants are documented and illegal aliens are deported; an America where foreign enemies are defeated and foreign allies are supported; an America where all lives matter and all violent mobs are arrested...
