On the final night of a convention filled with mishaps -- of the plagiarism, non-endorsement varieties -- Donald Trump painted a bleak picture of America, even as he officially accepted the Republican party's nomination for presidency.
His name was stamped in bold font across the convention hall jumbotron as he walked on stage. "I humbly and gratefully accept your nomination for the presidency of the United States," Trump began his speech. He paused for a moment before departing from his prepared remarks to join the audience in chanting: "USA! USA! USA!"
At this point, Trump couldn't help but gloat a little over his victory in the primary race.
"Who would have believed that when we started this journey on June 16th of last year we - and I say 'we' because we are a team - would have received almost 14 million votes, the most in the history of the Republican Party," he said, "and that the Republican Party would get 60 percent more votes than it received four years ago." He noted that the Democratic party's primary voter turnout rates were "not so good."
The billionaire proceeded to lay out a dark vision of America: "Our convention occurs at a moment of crisis for our nation. The attacks on our police, and the terrorism in our cities, threaten our very way of life."
"Americans watching this address tonight have seen the recent images of violence in our streets and the chaos in our communities," he continued. "Many have witnessed this violence personally. Some have even been its victims."
"I have a message for all of you," he said. "The crime and violence that today afflicts our nation will soon -- and I mean very soon -- come to an end. Beginning on January 20th 2017, safety will be restored."

The Media sure has their talking points-dark!
Yes, if one didn’t know better one would think it was, uh... rigged that way.
He gave a description of the darkness foisted on us by Obummer & Hitlery. Then he gave a vison for what could be. The Dims focus only on their darkness.
The "candidate of the apocalypse" no less.
Turning the spotlight on the dark areas. That scares lots of Washington politicians. They like it dark. They don’t want the lights on.
dammit after 20 years here you would think I would know how stupid I type and learn to proofreed better (<— ooops, see?)
You know why it was so dark? Because he was talking about hitlary and obamass. Where’s the light?
Vision, the act or power of imagination.
He did not offer a dark vision. He OBSERVED a dark scene of America as it is and then offered a VISION of strength and frankly rescue from the dark scene we are immersed in right now.
These bastard reporters are nothing but liars and twisters of the truth. But we all know that here don’t we?
So that is where all the talking heads on every channel got their talking points from last night? Trump switches off the mic......(cnn) Dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark dark dark.... (Nbc) Dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark dark......(fnc) Dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark....(all other networks) Dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark.... It was like the mass message went out to all democratic party talking head shills at the same time halfway through the speech... "the word to describe the speech is dark... use it immediately and in every sentence.
well america is a pretty dark place right now...so.....
YOU are on to something. I saw an article posted here in FR last night, even before the Don finished his speech. Then, as I was rushing to switch off NB-fng-C, the liberal talking head commentator used the same words to describe his speech. Something like; “It was a DARK speech...”
Will “Dark” will be the anti-Trump mantra of the left? What an oozing, stench-ridden pile of bile these rank and file libtards are.
Those are impressive figure; in a week though I fear the American people will be persuaded that the “dark” speech is the wrong one for current needs. The people seem to follow the media about a week after the impact of their negativism. Too bad Spiro T. Agnew fell from grace and was no longer around to chip in a few comments about the media.
Googled Reena Flores. She looks like her real name is Luna Tick.
Lots of bedwetting going on out there in LeftyLand.
It wasn’t a dark “vision”, it was a dark “portrait”. The “vision” was the fix to the “portrait”, or better said, the truth of the current status quo.
