Liberal group: Kaine could be 'disastrous' VP pick

A liberal group is urging Hillary Clinton not to select Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) as her running mate because of his positions on trade and banking regulation.

"Making Senator Tim Kaine our vice presidential candidate could be potentially disastrous for our efforts to defeat Donald Trump this fall," said Charles Chamberlain, executive director of Democracy for America. The group had endorsed Bernie Sanders during the Democratic primary.

Chamberlain's statement comes as Kaine appears to be the favorite to be Clinton's vice presidential pick. Clinton is expected to announce her running mate on Friday. But Kaine is also sparking concern from liberal groups.

Chamberlain criticized Kaine for voting for fast-track authority for the "job-killing Trans-Pacific Partnership." He also argued that Kaine has participated in a "push for bank deregulation."

Kaine on Monday signed a letter — along with Democratic Sens. Mark Warner (Va.), Gary Peters (Mich.) and Bob Casey (Pa.) — to call for the easing of reporting requirements under a liquidity rule so that they would be less burdensome for regional financial institutions. He also signed a bipartisan letter with 70 signatures that urged the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to tailor their rules so that they don't hurt community banks and credit unions.

"It should be disqualifying for any potential Democratic vice presidential candidate to be part of a lobbyist-driven effort to help banks dodge consumer protection standards and regulations designed to prevent banks from destroying our economy," Chamberlain said.

Another liberal group, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC), also urged Clinton on Thursday to choose a running mate who opposes the Pacific trade deal and supports Wall Street reform.

oh PLEASE.

Look, the liberals are pathetic, but they’re slaves to Hitlery. They will march in lockstep for her like the fascist leaders they worship.

Think for themselves? Nope. They talk a big game, but in the end, they bow their knees to the Democrat leadership.

Look at the “super delegate” process for the last 40 years or so! Not a word from these “liberal” activists. That super delegate process gives ELITES two votes: one vote in their primary/caucus and ANOTHER vote at their convention.

That is completely the opposite of a fair process. But they tolerate—and adamantly defend—such a perversion of the idea of “one man one vote”.

That’s why I hope she picks Kaine.
I would be happy to be rid of TIMMY!
