Leftists support democrats. Leftist Jews are no different. But there are a lot of conservative Jews, more this year than ever before. I think Trump will get more Jewish support than any recent GOP candidate.
By the way, the majority of Israeli Jews are conservative.
“But there are a lot of conservative Jews, more this year than ever before”
I hear that every 4 years. Romney got 30% and that was the highest since 1980
It’s easy to forget that Israeli Jews are nothing like the liberal Jews here in America:
Dianne Feinstein, Bernie Sanders, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, etc...
...
By the way, the majority of Israeli Jews are conservative.

That is what is interesting - is a realignment occurring? If so, how much?
I think that security concerns made Israelis more conservative over time. As radical islam grows in America, with the resultant rise in anti-semitism, will American Jews evolve like Israeli Jews did?
Realignments usually don’t occur in a gradual straight line - there is typically gradual change, with a big jump or two at some points (like the realignment of blacks during the Depression-era Northern migration, and again around the Civil Rights Act).
As the security pressure has grown, Trump is also shaping up as a candidate more acceptable to traditional Democrats, and possibly to Jews in particular. New York is a demographic center for American Jews, so his cultural background may be relate-able. The Trumps have extensive personal and business contacts with American Jewish elites. Ivanka’s conversion to Judaism may add a special element of star quality to his acceptability.
Let’s see if this cycle marks a jump in the long-predicted political realignment of American Jews. The threat posed by muslim extremists should be strongly messaged. It is real, and growing rapidly.
