Weather must be different up in Virginia. Here, it gets clammy and very humid, the storm forms, the downpour comes, the storm moves out, then the steam starts rising up from the ground and pavement when the sun comes back out. No relief from humidity at all.

It’s only a temporary relief.
If the storm is late enough in the evening then it stays tolerable till night fall.

If it’s the middle of the day we get maybe an hours relief before it starts getting uncomfortably muggy again.

When I was a kid, and didn’t know what air conditioning was, it didn’t seem to bother us.
Now? I love my AC.

Worst place I ever saw was Houston, TX.
The humidity there was like super slow motion rain fall.
