There is NO way to spin this. This is a very, very bad shoot. It's on video.
Why are you so keen on condemning the police before the facts are known?
Let’s just call it a hunch based on the North Miami Police twitter page.
“Thanks. Bizarre. But the way the ACLU lumps this in with Alton Sterling & Philando Castile is b.s.”
In fairness, though, who got shot?
The autistic man who was the legitimate suspect?
The 100% cooperative black man?
Seems to me the cop chose to shoot the black man, didn’t he?
Sorry, I don’t twit-ter or facebook. Unless you post it here I have no idea WTH you are babbling about.
If witness reports are correct about the shot being fired from a scoped rifle I’m going to hazard a guess that the rifle had not been sighted in recently if ever.
It may be that the officer was shooting at the non cooperating autistic white man, but missed entirely because of poorly maintained equipment.
This also explains the alleged “I don’t know” reply when asked why he shot the black man.
Not good.
5.56mm
Oh, my. That’s even worse if the cop was trying to kill the autistic man.
They have posted an official “preliminary” statement and their most recent press conference.
Zero attempt to explain, 100% attempt to pass the buck upstairs to the state and federal AG’s.
It’s been 3 days and the thin blue line has collapsed. Zero leaks regarding the victim’s criminal history (possibly because he doesn’t have one).
You wouldn't have been called there to take charge of the situation and make sure innocents are not injured and to also endanger your own life.
The pressure on one individual cop is harsh. A cop is going to panic and make a mistake sometimes. A mistake, in pursuit of his job . . . a cop should not be punished the same as a criminal.
Seems you’re making the mistake of thinking that I believe the Sterling & Castile cases are bad shoots.
We pay them and train them to not panic. It is unwise and unconstitutional to privilege the public servant over the public citizen.
All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. Let’s not go there.
Again, the facts of the case are not yet known. There is NO video of the shooting at the link. I’m certainly not going to base my opinion on a left wing agenda driven news report posted on YouTube by some street thug named youngsix bossland.
The problem is that police are the only people allowed to kill civilians without a trial or conviction.
Their standards must be higher in order to maintain the public trust.
There are enough great men in the position to excuse the bad ones.
Our culture allows for Christian mercy and good common sense . . . until now.
I don’t want to change to the Sharia Law of the Black Lives Matter haters.
Valpal1 on the Mike Brown - Ferguson Shooting (August 15th, 2014):
"Some facts are known. The victim had no criminal record, was a HS graduate, had attended summer school and was starting classes at the local trade school the following Monday."
"I also noticed this morning that the narrative has changed from the victim attacking the officer to one of the men attacked the officer. Hmmm."
"Just saying that I turn a wizened eye to the idea that a young man with NO history attacked an unnamed officer with an unreleased history. Until the police are more forthcoming and transparent I will give them no benefit of the doubt."
The plot thickens. Hands up! DOn't Shoot!
It is neither Christian mercy or common sense to allow incompetent officers to foul the atmosphere that good officers must work in.
Even a proved incompetent officer is still not equal to a willing criminal.
Isn't this the very reason we have a military structure where incompetence is the responsibility of the commander in charge and NOT the responsibility of the the men on the line who can only follow orders and receive training chosen by that commander?
