Ted’s cold logic:
If I diss Trump, but ...
Trump wins, but is a presidential loser = I win
Trump wins and is a presidential winner = I lose
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential loser = I win
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential winner = I lose
If I endorse Trump, but ...
Trump wins, but is a presidential loser = I lose
Trump wins and is a presidential winner = Maybe I get offered Department of Justice
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential loser = I lose
Trump loses and Hillary is a presidential winner = I lose

And Ted was wrong. He was wrong because group loyalty counts more than utility and when he publicly refused to honor his word he destroyed those bonds of group loyalty under a call for unity. Ted Cruz does not fundamentally understand how human being think. He’s brilliant and focused in some areas, but when it comes to how people think he’s clueless.
