Cruz's rebuke ignited a hot scene around the senator as soon as he left the stage. People averted their eyes from Cruz and his wife as they walked with their security detail on the skybox level of boisterous Republicans.
On the donor suite level, people approached Cruz and insulted him, a source told CNN's Dana Bash. One state party chairman reacted so angrily that he had to be restrained.
Cruz, who has long sought the support of GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson, was turned away when he tried to enter Adelson's suite.
Andy Abboud, a senior aide to the Las Vegas casino magnate, said Cruz was initially invited to come up to visit the Adelsons, but when he failed to endorse Trump the invitation was rescinded...

Cruz as a bright lawyer knows his eligibility problem too, and yet he ploughed ahead
I thought that was dishonest or at least hypocritical to the extreme, since he so frequently claims to respect the constitution
I liked many of his positions and wanted to support him, later I wanted to find someone with similar positions who I could support, now we got DT... who at least is bright, successful, well-known to millions, and he campaigns damned well too.. far better than all of the above
Donald allowed Ted to dig his own electoral grave. If Trump had viewed Ted’s speech beforehand, and refused to permit Ted to take the stage, Cruz would forever have a talking point that he was ‘denied to express himself.
“If only he could have explained his position to the American People, he would have won them over, but the Trump campaign worked to prevent his free speech.”
Now, Ted has only himself to blame. He will probably come back from this, being only in his 40’s, but it may be a long time in self imposed exile.
he did not
It's clear that Cruz cannot think out of the box. He is single minded and incapable of changing course from a disastrous heading. He is not fit to lead.
Then there’s Ted’s side-dish Mandy on CNN going on about what a man of honor Cruz is....delusional.
“One state party chairman reacted so angrily that he had to be restrained.”
Tonight was a night for restraint.
Trump outsmarted Cruz. In a battle of wits with Trump, Cruz was unarmed.
at a political establishment, er, I mean when I cynically break my promise to endorse the winner but instead ignore the will of the people.
That’s what Cruz should have said. He is so deranged that he cannot see his own lies.
Jeb, Rubio, Kasich and Cruz think they hurt Trump by not endorsing him.
But Trump comes out on top by letting them show the world what small men they are.
Small men who do not honor a signed pledge and put their own interests ahead of the nation.
Especially Cruz because Trump was magnanimous in giving him a prime time speaking slot without demanding the promis of an endorsement.
By not endorsing Trump, Cruz has killed any chance that he might become a nominee in a future presidential election.
What trap? Cruz’s brilliance has been greatly exaggerated. The guy is 13 kinds of stupid.
that could be.
DT does not impress me as having such strong political views and he has been on the progressive side of several issues
but anyway he is very smart and he is a quick thinker and he appears to have good instincts about some of the most importrant issues I think
and he sure can campaign well!!! We need a strong campaigner to defeat the as-yet Unindicted wicked witch of the midwest....the one with the reported $ 2 BILLION of largely foreign enemy illegal monies from Arab/IslamoNazi dictatorships
that one.
DT might be just the person who can defeat her...
Ted Cruz spoke about love and forgiveness at different points in his speech.
Sadly, Ted couldn’t bring himself to have forgiveness and show love towards Trump.
“Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those that trespass against us.”
Cruz is a hypocrite.
I grew up in a town with a multitude of PhDs. Cruz reminds me of them: book smart, no common sense, no ability to interact with people.
He is done. He has killed his political career single-handedly.
(And he is ineligible to boot...)
I hope this spectacle was worth it.
Cruz should have grown up and learned by now that this is not about HIM, it’s about getting behind the GOP and try to defeat Hilliary. How petty, how low and what a sore loser. I hope this means he’s out of the game for the rest of his life now...
People were asking ‘Why let Cruz give an unvetted speech at the GOP convention’? Well here’s the genius in Trump. Cruz was either going to go out there and support him, or he was going out onstage to hang himself in front of the GOP.
Trump ... Every move attacks and defends at the same time.
Best line of the night: “Why do people immediately take a disliking to Ted Cruz?”, reply “To save time”.
A Christian forgives his enemies and prays for those who persecute and hate him.
Cruz wasn’t a good Christian in displaying towards Trump the lofty principles he talked about.
You mean it wasn’t good enough for him?
Yes I don’t see how he comes back from setting the barn on fire. The guy is self destructive.
I fully understand why almost everyone who works with Cruz hates his guts. He and Mike Pence hold very similar views overall, but Pence is loved by all because he lives out his Christian faith and is a good, decent, kind, and trustworthy man, by all accounts I’ve seen. Cruz isn’t hated because he disagrees with the establishment or RINOs. He’s hated because most people see through him.
They know he’s a nasty, self-serving, hypocritical, play-acting, untrustworthy little man. Look how many people have expressed these opinions about him who know him best. Look how when it came down to a five-way race all of his remaining opponents (Rubio, Trump, Carson, and Kasich) eventually accused him of lying or deception. Of course, he was going to be booed—it was well deserved for a person like him.
Another Ivy League educated buffoon who gets an F in common sense. Yeah, they don’t teach that at Princeton or Harvard, do they?
