They keep pushing this narrative, that “hey it’s not Islam, it’s (depression, confusion, conflict over homosexuality, etc etc)... So no need to worry.”
In actuality it makes the problem worse, not better.
You now have to extend the universe of potential jihadi’s to that vast pool of “moderate, non religious Muslims”. Apparently there’s no way to predict when one of them will have his Jihad Switch go off, and turn him into a mass murderer.
We’ve been calling out Sudden Jihad Syndrome here at Free Republic for a long time, probably more than a decade.
At first Muslim men come to the West and feel free and invigorated from the chains and backwardsness of their own cultures and countries. Then after some time they feel inferior and long to feel the pride for their own people and culture. So guilt ridden and enraged they lash out and find that Islam promises through jihad a means to make up for all the conflicts raging in them; also likely their families if not getting physically paid are to be rewarded in their version of an afterlife and praise if not at least notoriety for years. What a twisted fxxed up mix of beliefs that is for millions an endless cycle on repeat with no solution...Only Jesus - maranatha.
