Nixon said in 1972 if George Bush Sr ever got his hands on the Presidency, he would destroy America. He knew the Bushies.
Boy, this whole sorry set of affairs sure is making Nixon look better in hindsight.
Despite likely getting SCROOOOOD by voter fraud in 1960, he gracefully conceded because he did not want to put the country through that turmoil, nor look like a sore loser.
In 1974 he had the decency to resign when caught red-handed rather than put the country through an impeachment trial and further divide us.
Deeply flawed for sure....but a better man than much of what we’re seeing today.
