I don’t think this will go away. I am hoping that the speech writer wrote it. It needs to be addressed by the Trump camp in some fashion. This was only day 1 of the convention and given the media’s big hype on this, they will slip this story in every chance they get.

That is what speechwriters are for -- to write speeches, do the research, and be sure they are not rehashing or plagiarizing other speeches. They are paid to do this so that the busy people who hire them do not have to. That is the responsibility a speechwriter accepts in exchange for his paycheck.
