Think about it.
Jeb! been in hiding for months, then right before convention starts, he rears his head, W shows up at a funeral (which is way out of context and weird) and Jeb! does press and writes and editorial that is basically a stump speech.
Cruz was going to snatch the nomination or defer to Jeb! or have Jeb! as his new running mate.
The plan was to make sure either Hillary or Jeb! won the election to finish the job Bush I started years ago.
Cruz is the vehicle being used and nothing more.
