Please go to the ER. I broke my wrists (yes plural) last year. Lots of pain and swelling sounds like it could be a break. If it is broken you want to get the wrist in a temporary caste for now AND on some pain killers because the pain will be fierce in a few hours. It gets a lot worse.

Captain, the hotness is right in the center of the back of his hand, not his wrist. He is insisting on not going in tonight so if he isn’t any better we can go to a normal doc in the AM. He actually broke his arm several years ago, He has a poor diet (special needs and refuses a lot of food) so maybe his bones aren’t too great.
