If we need to nuke a city - a ICBM can deliver anywhere in the world in about 45 minutes. There's no reason to store weapons for ISIS to steal...
Maybe democrats are stupid enough to leave nukes for ISIS to grab, but the rest of us have to object.
It’s our most useful deployment of nukes currently IMO.
However, as you say, missiles can replace them.
More importantly Turkey’s interests are moving toward China and Russia (long term trend) and it can no longer be considered a strategic friend.
They’ve gone radical muslim - that’s the major problem. China and Russia don’t need to steal nukes from stupid Americans but ISIS does. Move ‘em out. We can reprogram a few of our ICBM’s to cover the ME ‘just in case’. There is NO reason to have nukes in the ME OTHER than to prove the idiots running our military are incompetent. Interesting there were so many leadership changes at this time - to give the base “plausible deniability” or insert trained operatives?
Most useful? Seems like a dangerous practice in the middle of a country like Turkey. Variously anonymous sources at FR and elsewhere are also denying that there are any nukes at all at Incirlik.
