I’m serious asking this question. What did Trump do to upset so many Mormons? Do any of his business compete with established Mormon owned companies? You can normally follow the money to solve many a mystery.
The Mormon church is fully committed to open borders.
I think it is simply that he is aware of their attempted stealth manipulations and infiltrations. Their hysterical animosity towards Trump is a thing in his favor, IMO.

He attacked Romney after Romney attacked Trump. Romney is kind of like a Mormon demi-god for them. There’s a real possibility we might lose Utah over it.
