Truck crashes into Bastille Day crowd in Nice, France

France’s national holiday turned ugly for revelers Thursday night in the southern city of Nice, as a truck reportedly crashed into a crowd of Bastille Day revelers and fears of terrorism spread.

Me thinks it was a suicide truck bomb that did not detonate.

France 24 says over 10 dead and perhaps gunman on the loose. They showed the truck, and the front end was filled with bullet holes. They didn’t say anything about the driver. Reports are confused at this early time.

It happened on the main oceanfront boulevard at the end of the Bastille Day fireworks. The truck just plowed into the crowd.

One report said one gunman holed up in a restaurant? Not sure if that’s accurate, but it looks like a shooting incident in addition to the truck being driven into the crowd.
