Go to my other post 173 for the story on Mike Pence's refusal to stand up for his claimed Christian values.
I have many evangelical Christian friends who live and operate businesses in Indiana!
They and the Indianiana legislature who passed the religious freedom act that was trashed by Angie's List and a few other high powered gay promoting businesses, were left hanging out to dry by Mike Pence.
I didn't say Pence is pro-gay, he just won't stand up for the values he claims, when faced with strong opposition!
Standing strong in the face of such opposition, may be extremely difficult for us but Pence had all evangelicals behind him and still caved!
Just sayin'.
You’re not helping. Just sayin’. :-)
And that’s what ultimately gets me. When the spotlight finally shined on Pence, and it was time for the rubber to hit the road... he caved.
More than anything, this has been the pattern in the GOP, whether it comes to stopping Obama’s agenda, or standing up to calculated, media-driven PC firestorms. I’ve lost every single shred of faith in the Party as a whole. It’s why my lifelong status as a Republican voter ended. And it’s because of Republican leaders behaving just like Pence did. Cowering and capitulating.
It was the weakness of the bill. Know a person involved in writing it. They admit it was poorly written and would not have held up in federal court. Instead of allowing it to become case law Pence bit the bullet and took the fall. Better not have another Row vs Wade.
