WASHINGTON (Reuters) CIA Director John Brennan said on Wednesday he would resign if the next president ordered his agency to resume waterboarding suspected militants, an apparent reference to comments by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump embracing the banned interrogation method.I can say that as long as Im director of CIA, irrespective of what the president says, Im not going to be the director of CIA that gives that order. Theyll have to find another director, said Brennan, who did not mention Trump by name.
Brennan, who has been director since 2013, tacked his comment to the end of his response to a question about drone strike policy after speaking at the Brookings Institution, a Washington policy institute.Brennan said previously he would refuse to resume the practice, which simulates drowning and was used by the CIA on three suspected militants detained in secret foreign prisons during President George W. Bushs administration.
But his pledge to resign if ordered to revive waterboarding was his most emphatic affirmation of his position to date.

I thought the Obama admin a while back took interrogation responsibilies away from the CIA to give them to a newly created government division made just for the purpose?
That lying so and so will be gone soon after the inauguration.
Without water boarding Obama would never have gotten credit for Bin Laden as the fat Sheik was water boarded and only that procedure made he name the courier.
Absolutely. But ... you wouldn’t want to telegraph your moves, so they should be treated as any employee fired for cause. Trump should arrive unannounced with an extra-large SS detail, go to their office and stand there while the SS take the person by the arm and escort them to another room where they can hand over any passwords, keys, and devices. After those have all been verified by their interim replacement, then continue to hold the person incommunicado while you move on to the next person. Their exit interviews will be hours long anyway.
After everyone has been secured and all security and access has been changed, they can be sent home with their box of personal items. Only then should candidates for permanent replacements be sent to the Senate for approval. Letting the Obama cronies stick around until the Senate confirms new people would be a mistake.
Good. Didn’t he convert to Muslim?
And this worm is our top spook?
Is there anyone who works for obammy’s gub mint NOT a dumbass?
Brennan is another that needs investigating after Trump becomes the President.
agree
Yup... Brennan need not have worried, unless the Benghazi complex was the exception to the rule, as Broadwell contended.
