Yes. A game that draws crowds to churches... how terrible.

Our town has had a metamorphosis over the weekend.

Parents are out with their kids, cheering them on. The park is full. The monuments are getting attention. Old, young, black, white... we’re all playing.

Kids are getting help from teens to learn the game. Old ladies are walking with black men as they’re learning how to battle. The cops are pulling over young people at 2AM to tell them where to capture a Pikachu. Neighbors are getting out and meeting neighbors.

Yesterday morning there were more than 50 people in the park. Last night, there were hundreds. Shut-ins are being drawn out. People who desperately need exercise are braving the heat to walk the pavement.

When you have a dozen people congregating at a church at 10PM - for whatever reason - and there are no fights or arguments, you’ve got a good thing.

If the pastors were smart, they’d open their doors and offer game players bottled water along with good wishes. If they’re really smart, they’ll invite people in to sit while they battle at the gym and offer them free bibles, friendship and community.

Watched a cop and a young black man standing on the corner, exchanging tips the other night at 11PM.

Race didn’t matter. Politics didn’t matter.

Only community in the game mattered.

We don’t have any BLM protests scheduled here.

Now go Red Team Valor! lol!

Well, our church is small and volunteer run. We have no full time staff to wait around for game players to pass out water bottles.

Geocaching has specific property rules. No caches on private land without express permission, not near bridges, tunnels and other security risks etc. This game has no such limitations and seems to encourage trespassing.

Yep, great idea.

It has changed our town immensely also! We have cops showing young adults where the Rare Pokies Spawn. People congregating at the churches sharing drinks and having a good time. Same with the parks.

I am having the time of my life walking and meeting people and yeah GO TEAM VALOR!
