Agreed ! It may well be someone capitalizing on the group name and previous reputation.
That is why I should have listed the thread to the Prepper ping, and should have said :
The hacktivist group claiming to be Anonymous (emphasis mine)
is now calling for nationwide
Day of Rage protests on Friday, July 15th.
It may add up to no activity on a nothing day,
but I felt that some folks would want to be advised
especially if they work , live , or travel in those areas.
These are uncertain times, for sure, given the recent threats and acts of open hostility.
If Anonymous wanted to “approach” national police departments, PD systems would just start failing systemically.
For about a day and then would miraculously recover the next. That’s how a hacker makes a statement.
