I have come to the conclusion that GHWB’s becoming VP was the “price” RR had to pay for GOPe support in the election, because, as ou point out, he was not loyal to RR, and his “short follow-on Presidency” attests to that fact!
I have long held that Reagan’s biggest folly was his choice of VP.
