Thank you for getting it! This is a woman who has a valid concern for her sons, which is what led her to join in what she expected to be a peaceful demonstration.
After what happened, she is clearly seeing other aspects of the situation and would probably be very open to having a reasoned dialog to find common ground. I am from a law enforcement family but I welcome honest discussions about the problems that we are facing as a country and I refuse to denigrate those who have had a different experience than I have.
We ALL need to stop stirring up animosity and division. As a mother of sons, I would love to meet with this woman and her family and hear their story and share mine with them. I suspect that we could find much on which we agree.
I so agree. Derogatory comments made against this woman, on a video that some have never even seen, is regrettable.
I hope to hear even more from her. She seems to be fair and reasonable minded, and sympathetic to both sides.
