After a Minnesota police officer fatally shot a black man on Wednesday, gun control advocates werent the only ones criticizing the National Rifle Association. Some of the blowback was coming from within the organization.
The NRA is facing internal division as its members argue that the group did not do enough to defend gun owners rights by speaking out on behalf of Philando Castile of Falcon Heights, Minn., who was shot to death during a traffic stop.
Castile had a valid permit to carry a gun. He also reportedly informed the officer who shot him that he was armed in an attempt to head off a misunderstanding.

Why is not the argument that it doesn’t matter if he had a permit or not, if he reached for a gun after the officer told him to stop, no permit or NRA endorsement or outrage is going to change that he was going to get shot.

I see the Wash. Compost is trolling again.

I’ve read that he was a convicted felon and a gang member. How would he have a valid permit?

I’ve read that he was Crip and had traffic violations. I’ve never read that he was a convicted felon.

He's been charged 79 times (No felony convictions), however, it's routine to downgrade charges.
The wording is also suspect. I am certain Media groups have been bending over backwards to hide, obfuscate, and mislead.
The Media still peddles lies about Trayvon Martin.
Hands Up, Don't Shoot is a Media Myth nurtured and tended.

He certainly didn’t behave like a CCW holder. The crime rate among carry permit holders is infinitesimal.

I have the feeling that in a few months we will add:
“He had a permit” to the “Had had his hands up and said dont shoot”, list.

I have been asking for 2 days why is the Sheriff silent?
Revealing this will not hinder or obstruct any investigation.

The crime rate for CCW holders is lower that that of the police.

In most states, list of CCW Permit holders is not public information. Several years ago Missouri Highway Patrol got in a shit-storm over releasing names/address of 163K CCW holders to Social Security Dept. They wanted to investigate disability claims and compare names to CCW holders.
No idea what laws are in MN. Perhaps someone from there can jump in?

Alton Sterling was those things. Phil Castile, I don’t think he was a convicted felon. Being a gang member is not illegal and I don’t think you can keep someone from getting a permit because of that.
To: jazminerose
He certainly didnt behave like a CCW holder. And the reason I ask is because the LEOs certainly didn't behave like professional cops. Based on the reports/videos I have seen, there seem to be some real issues in this case.
