How do you produce a re-make with a completely different plot? The story Feig is telling just doesn’t make sense.

I did, and you are spot on. This was never going to be any kind of sequel once Reitman was taken off of the project. Feig owns this turkey. There’s talk that at the film bombs catastrophically Sony will sell off the studio.

Remakes are in fact so rampant because for the next generation the original is obliterated and usurped by the newer, glitzier remake. Without good direction children are always programmed to seek out the new and flush the old. Directors are intentionally chosen for their loathing of the original work. The result turns the spirit of the original on its head, as intended. The remake of The Wicker Man is a case in point. That director loathed Paul Giovanni’s soundtrack to the film, among other things. In short, it is systematic communist degredation of art, which becomes anti-art.

I saw that person in a commercial and thought for sure that it was a man.

She is hawking car insurance, a noble pursuit if ever there was one. Her voice is almost as deep as the allstate guy’s. She is gettin that money while she can, what a role model.

I bet they wrote out of the script the main villain, the EPA inspector.

When the pinnacle of cultural expression is a remake of Ghostbusters, it’s time to just tear it all down and start over.

Melissa Anderson could be Kristen Wiig twin sister.

#44 True Grit remake with mumbling Jeff Bridges
John Wayne is the only one for that part.

I loved Arthur with Dudley Moore. I year the remake was so awful it isn’t spoken of in polite society. No, remakes rarely make the grade.

Leslie Jones looks like some kind of beast.

I recently saw her in a TV commercial and she grossed me out.

No way would I watch this bomb even for free.

If Sony Pictures had imagined the movie as a passing of the torch to the female descendants of the original cast, I think THAT would have been a way more interesting movie, especially since Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson all could have played more than just cameo roles in the new movie.

But Sony Pictures had to do it as a remake, and not a good one at that, either.

They could have chosen a beautiful non-white woman

Why did they choose this woman?

Alien was awesome — but this was not “push the women forward at the expense of guys”
