I dunno if we can even trust Trump. He’z all we got at this point, he’z sayin all the right things, being bold.
Hopefully he’z genuine. At the end of the day, Trump has no clue what it is like to live as a middle income or poor person in America. His whole life has been of wealth and privilege. We will see. Cautiously optimistic.
Newt need his Tiffany account taken care of
I’d like to see Trump pick Allen West.
Perhaps he could bring some sanity to the race baiter’s and tamp down this divide Obozo has started.
A WAG is trump pulls 30% of the sane black vote with West on the ticket.
First Newt needs to learn the meaning of the word Loyalty.
Towel boy.
“Trump MUST pick somebody DIVERESE”
How about one of Barry’s Islamonazi friends to balance that side of the ticket. Pick the best person to help actually rebuild this train wreck of a nation after the election. Newt, I think, fits this bill.
If newt wanted to be VP he might have kept his mouth shut and ran all of his opinions through the Trump campaign.
I can tell you right now Manafort has a problem with Newt and it is Newts fault.
The minute you’re clocked in you need to get over here.
That’s what I’ve been saying.
Military-Congressional experience-Younger-Florida-Black
IMO black Republicans don’t pull in general election votes. (Unless they are hyperRINO like a Colin Powell, and even then, Blacks tend to go home to their Democrat party anyway).
And, as a midlevel military guy with just one term in the House of Representatives, West would look like a pure diversity pick.
Trump will however pull in some of his own.
I ran into him and Calista in at church a few years ago on Maiu. I was horrified at how horrible he looked. Of course, he was wearing shorts and an aloha shirt. No camouflage suit and tie. I think he was using a cane!
Thanks for that, 9yearLurker. Good info.
So in Alabama, there could be an appointment THEN a special election.
Jeff Sessions is the obvious route to go.

AGREED!!!!!!!!!
Flynn hasn’t proven himself to be very politically inclined. There are many issues where he would likely show weakness.
I tend to agree with that.
I do think however, that West, much like Sherriff Clark might help in talking some sense into this rapidly escalating race relations disaster Obama has sprung.
For me, Newt is an excellent choice for CofStaff. Knows how things work and would control Trump’s calendar. Not as VP. Trump is 68, Newt is over that and he has a ton of baggage.
Hopefully Trump does not go over the line and pick a dem. The party would have standing to remove him as candidate if he does that.
To win the election he must carry Ohio, Pa, Va and Fl. Need to locate one person who can ensure he carries one or two of those states. I’d pick the state he is less sure about which would be Va IMO.
I like General Flynn, too.
The media quoted Gingrich yesterday as saying he would not necessarily accept the VP spot if it is offered to him by Trump.
Maybe Newt is playing hard to get.
Agree about the Clinton era baggage.
Marriage??? Are we still at this ridiculous stage?
Gingrich is not any more perfect than any other candidate vying for the position but I’m old enough to remember when he won back Congress for the first time in 40 years.
He’s a brilliant speaker, debater and why not campaign for the job? Better than putting some lousy female politician on the ticket.
Ike was a disaster for one basic reason: He wasn’t a Conservative. He really wasn’t a Republican, either. His father was a Socialist activist, Ike was raised a left-winger and he never left those roots behind. The Democrats (Truman, specifically) wanted him as their nominee for President.
The RINO Establishment of the time, whom had run nothing but “Progressives” since 1928, to disastrous effect beginning with Hoover (an ex-Wilsonian Progressive Democrat) wanted to stop the Conservative Sen. Robert Taft, and Ike as the “Moderate” alternative fit the bill (and in the process stopped the Conservative ticket of Taft and Gen. Douglas MacArthur).
Ike couldn’t have done more damage if he had served as a Democrat, and probably given the GOP a fighting chance to not have ended up as a permanent minority party for the better part of 6 decades.
