Was that the movie where in a scene some folks were hold up in a gas station and the machine leader was an Army jeep?

The cops didn’t know whether or not he had a firearm so to keep themselves safe they sent in a robot.

I hope they continue to use killer robots to blast these out of control maniacs to smithereens.

We still haven’t finished the ethical debate over Hillary. When that’s done to our satisfaction, then we’ll address other disagreements, thank you very much.

“Consider it bios firmware for Humans.”

God help us, because we are f-ing with the human firmware. That is far more dangerous tech than drones. Your solution applies equally, perhaps more so.

Technology is always a perishable advantage. But having it in the hands of political types does bother me. Police are Instruments of politics.

The sniper is dead. That is good. But a drone on every street corner collecting revenue from each citizen iS entirely plausible and disturbing.

If Christ was invented by man then Christ is no better than the basest con game.

However, Christ wasn’t.

The man was cornered. He didn't have any hostages. I still don't see why they couldn't have starved him out. Or gassed him out.

Even a very healthy and strong man could survive a couple days, only, without water. A couple minutes without oxygen.

Why didn't the cops think time was on their side?

The "He said he had bombs planted" story makes sense, but nobody's talking about that. Why? It's like they dropped that as a rationale.

Maybe more info will come out later.

You need to understand bible history to understand the place of the Decalogue (aka Ten Commandments).

The ultimate morality of Christianity exceeds this, with an exception that no literal Sabbath day is required. Instead it has become spiritual: resting from one’s own works, permitting God’s works to operate instead.

That’s how Earl and Burt disposed of some Mexican graboids in _Tremors 2_.

It’s hard to judge because of a lack of perspective.

Had the situation deteriorated to the point a sniper would have been given the order to take him out? If so, there’s no real debate.

But if no one was at risk at the time then it’s troubling.

Hopefully enough information will eventually come out. That would give the public a better read on the events.

But if no one was at risk at the time then it’s troubling.

Reports say negotiations had broken down and firing had resumed. We already know he had effective body armor from when the cop tried to take him out but bullet bounced off - leading to the cop's point blank death, as caught on video. DPD did the right thing.

There was the wheel bunker buster that didn’t work out for Dad’s Army though. A great episode.

I volunteer you next time to run up on the armored and armed shooter in a defensive position - oh wise one who knows exactly what went down last night. How about it? Then you can have the smug satisfaction of saying you didn’t need an unfair robot.

I’ll go out on a limb and say you’d actually beg for the honor of pushing the button - if you’d been there.

But let’s be honest: you wouldn’t be there. You’d be miles away by that point. Scared shitless and running home.

“In what appears to be an unprecedented tactic, police rigged a bomb-disposal robot to kill an armed suspect in the fatal shootings of five officers in Dallas. While there doesn’t appear to be any hard data on the subject, security experts and law enforcement officials said they couldn’t recall another time when police have deployed a robot with lethal intent.”

Nothing more than good ol’ American ingenuity, one of the reasons we won WWII. In this particular instance, an insane killer who had already assassinated five police officers was neutralized without further loss of innocent life.
