While I agree complying with instructions is not only the best and safest idea, the idea that failure to immediately comply with instructions will lead to your execution is a huge problem to me. Force escalation has gotten not just out of control, but beyond that. Any citizen who tried to pull 'standard police policies' in defending themselves will go to jail and most likely end up with a significant prison sentence. We do NOT have laws that only apply to one class of citizen - they apply to all.
Citizens go to jail, your name and picture immediately released to the press following your arrest; police get a paid vacation, they won't choose to release the name of the officer at this time (or maybe ever), investigators are looking into the situation. This, to me, is a significant problem that must be addressed. That is a badge, not a wholesale license to kill.
I think he learned what he needed to target law enforcement. IJS.....

I guess you have to be able to trust the entities who have access to them. I think the police were right in this case.
