Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump's former chief rival for the GOP nomination, will speak at the Republican National Convention later this month, the Texas senator told reporters after the two met Thursday in Washington.
Cruz told reporters Thursday that the real estate mogul offered his former primary rival a speaking slot during the meeting and Cruz accepted. He added that he and Trump did not discuss an endorsement.

Ping!
Sometimes I’m short when posting to you, but it’s just because I try to scan every article on the Forum 24/7. I respect the way you have come alongside the prospective nominee over the past month. Hope the two men did indeed make a workable peace.
: )
I’m here in Florida where it’s hot but not that hot, and with the luscious ocean breeze, it is actually quite lovely (except for the mosquitoes!).
Why are you here, bothering people again?
Donald never said ANYTHING that resembles the lies Cruz told about him.
Now I remember. You’re the guy who refused to explain how Trump’s statement, “We’re not going to allow anyone to die in the street,” really meant, “Donald favors socialized, single-payer healthcare for every American.”
“carrying 4 dead Democrats...”
LOL, nice of you to bring them back to vote in November ;)
“One would think that a personality cult would require a personality, but apparently not.”
good one!
“Hes naturally repellent to way too many people, and his record does not match DJTs.”
Well, his policies pretty much matched Trump’s at the end - after he copied everything Trump said.
Hillary is going to need those 8 votes and more if she expects to win. Yes I know I’m only carrying 4 dead Democrats but the national average for dead Democrats votes is roughly 2 per body.
Don’t tell anybody but I’m actually going to dump them at about 27,000 feet in a place where even Harry Reid won’t be able to find them.
Go Trump.
LOL. Lighten up and read my tag line. I’m voting for a Trump. AFAIK every former Cruz supporter here on FR is going to vote for Trump. What we object to is the insane hatred for Ted Cruz. It is senseless to the point of being childish.
We need to beat Hillary and the Dem Machine. The Cruz Haters at FR are actually hurting that cause not helping it. We need to stay focused on the real enemy (Hillary) and do what we can to pump up the energy for a Trump.
According to you, a lot of ‘conservatives’ would be fine with a Hillary presidency.
Trump’s mother was a US citizen when he was born. Cruz is a Natural Born Canadian citizen.
Your declared preference for Trump at a time when Cruz and Kasich were still viable impacted the participation in your poll. I question your sampling methodology and thus I also doubt the validity of your results.
Not what I said A lot of conservatives do not see a lot of difference between Hilary and trump A liberal running mate would give more fuel to that line of thinking Like it or not Trump is not a conservative No conservative I know is excited to vote for him We are willing to vote against Hilary but the support is tenuous If Trump wants the conservative vote he needs to make an effort to reach out to it If he doesn’t want the conservative vote and thinks he can do it with independents and liberals then I wish him luck A lot of trump supporters here invite us to vote for Hilary if we have the slightest criticism of trump They might want to rethink that. Just because I don’t worship at the altar of Trump does not mean I support Hilary
Trumps mother was a US citizen when he was born. Cruz is a Natural Born Canadian citizen.
++++
I know about Trump. He is fine. But the hit on Cruz is a distraction. The courts say he is also OK. I agree that this a stretch if you go back to definition of a Natural Born Citizen. But it’s a stretch for Trump as well.
Bottom line:,Forget the Canadian Cruz bit. It has no standing in court and his Senate record proves where he stands on the issues.
Plus it is disruptive around here. The focus needs to be on electing Trump and discouraging Cruz supporters is hurting that cause.
It’s time to end the Cruz bashing.
‘A lot of conservatives do not see a lot of difference between Hilary’
You have a strange, weird and bizarre definition of ‘conservatives.’
“Half? I think it’s a (now) silent majority.”
Yup. Destroyed a conservative with a Heritage rating in the high 90’s. The bar has now been lowered significantly, after people here went after Mike Lee.
In 4 years, McCain and Graham’s ratings will be considered conservative.
There is no stretch where Trump is concerned. He was born of two US citizen parents on American soil.
As for Cruz, to this day many people do not realize he was a Natural Born Canadian citizen. His pattern of deception hid that fact from many.
Trump’s mother was born in Scotland, but she became a US citizen before he was born. So Trump is a natural born citizen, and Cruz is not.
Depends on your definition of Natural Born Citizen. The strick definition requires both parents to be born as US citizens. Trump doesn’t pass that test. Neither does Cruz. Or Obama.
But the courts don’t use that definition nor the one you are using to rag on Cruz.
A waste of time. It’s hurts Trump. It helps Hillary. You are driving former Cruz supporters away from Jim Robinsons baby and perhaps away from supporting Trump.
Enough.
So true. I actually think Trump was smart to give this little man his last hurrah at the convention. I think that was the inside joke when Trump swatted away the mosquito yesterday at his rally and said he hates mosquitos.
Cruz is a pettly little person who absolutely believes he's always the smartest man in the room. He's what we usually call "a prick." No friends. Full of himself. Generally cheats or scams the system to get ahead. He will never be different, and it seems he attracts similar people to himself, like mosquitos.
