I agree that Rep Hurd was very good. This was his first term in Congress - I could be wrong but I seem to recall it was a fairly close race - I was routing for him from the Peoples’ Republic of WA.

We knew two people from CT (just acquaintances) who had to move from CT To the San Antonio area back in 2010 (new job). They are die-hard conservatives, who (like my husband and me) have been thoroughly disgusted with The People's Deep Blue Republik of Connecticut. I'll bet they helped to put Rep. Hurd over the top... :-)
