DUH, when they run your plate, they know that you are a CCW carrier. You automatically put your hands in plain site, and then tell the officer exactly what you are going for when you reach for ANY thing. Common sense.
He did according to his girlfriend in her video. Did you watch it?
I taught all three of my kids that when a policeman stops you, you place both hands on the steering wheel at the 10 and 2 position, and you do not move them unless the officer instructs you to do so.
If you are getting your license, you tell the officer where your wallet is and that you are going to reach into your pocket or the dash to get the wallet, and you do so when he says you can do that.
I told them that is for your safety as well as the cop’s.
I have done this myself when stopped by a cop, and never a problem.
Unfortunately common sense plays no part in too many of these situations; these incidents make some areas basically “unpoliceable”. It is impossible to reconcile a scared cop and people who disobey basic instructions; if this victim was in fact complying with those instructions the cop should be jailed.
Why isn't common sense a requirement for the police officer?
They told me in my class, when the officer walks up to your car and you have a gun with you, put both hands on the wheel and tell the officer you have a gun in the car.
My friend was pulled over for something, she has a CCW but did not have a gun with her, when he came back to her car after checking her drivers license, he asked if she had her gun with her, she said no, he told her why not, go get it now!
