I liked him in the Cross and the Switchblade. One of my friends, helped teach Erik Estrada roller skating, for some movie, or TV show he was going to appear in. This friend, spent 20 years in the Navy, and is now a pastor in Northern California.
I also saw Nicky Cruz preach in Del Rio, TX, in 1974. He was quite a speaker, but I think he said, up till then, he had never met Erik Estrada. Maybe he has by now, I just don't know.

Today the Cross and the Switchblade would be attacked as racist, sexists, and bigotted (did i leave anything out?). But it remains a powerful testimony.
