Ernst is a conservative who served in Kuwait and wants to abolish the IRS. OK by me. Rookie? Yep but she's served longer in government than Trump has. I would not write her off. We need more like her in the Senate. Having said that I have no problem leaving her where she is. The purpose of the VP is to help get Trump elected. That's about it.
Are you saying military service is a definitive metric of "patriotism"? Because John FN Kerry's medals prove...what again??
Ernst ran as a conservative and compromised those principles in short order. IMO she's a moderate Republican who fell in with the Establishment crowd. You're obviously entitled to your own opinion.
You may not have realized this yet, but "serving in government" is NOT necessarily a measure of love of country, integrity, or accomplishment, or else you may as well built a monument to the Kennedys, McCain, and Orrin Hatch.
The purpose of Trump's VP is to provide strength, integrity, commitment to doing the right thing, and adding confidence to the ticket. I'm not a big proponent these days of political appointments based on outdated strategy -- PC demographics and a supposed geographical loyalty.
