Exactly. I got your point, sorry everyone had to give you the Constitutional answer when it was obvious what you were referring to. Actually, I think your point is why Newt as CofS instead of VP makes Ryan irrelevant. It would be a huge middle finger to Paulie Ryno to have Newt in that position as it would make him in essence the Speaker of the House inside the Trump admin. Newt is a natural leader and ideas guy and House members would naturally gravitate to him as opposed to the little puke Ryan.

I’m still rooting for Ted Nugent as VP.

Is my opinion, none of the true contenders are “in the (media’s) running”. I’m also not the first one here to mention this.

I like Newt also but still don’t get the impression he is as pro-Trump as he is anti-Hillary. Maybe he is in it because he thinks he can control the Donald. lol

I’m hoping to see the Nuge speak and perform both at the Convention and the Inaugural ceremonies.

Freebie hint for the connected illuminati event planners there...

Maybe the Dims could counter with a Matt Damon speaking appearance at their convention to whine about a national gun confiscation roundup! What a contrast.

I am a long-time practicing and I think most of our Bishops including the Pope are left-wing nut jobs. Newt like myself are Catholics who are conservative and think for themselves.

We are wise to the leftist sickos who reside in our Church for the purpose of bringing it down.

Viva Christo Rey!

"Can anyone answer why Alan West is NOT in the running???"

Maybe he is. DJT is great with the head fake.

“IF there is nothing else to be learned from be-right back Obama, a junior senator, even graduating from Harvard is NOT fit to be president.”

Given the history of this country in the last century or so, I’m leaning toward attendance at Harvard as being a disqualifying characteristic. It is located somewhere between murdering a child on live TV (on the lower end) and proven pedophilia (on the higher end). Yeah, I don’t like Harvard people much, most particularly in positions of power.

Good, she'll be ready for VP in 8-12 years, maybe even POTUS in 12-16 years.
Please, no more freshman/rookie senators in the white house, one per century was more than enough.

From the get-go the RNC establishment has poisoned the water! Those buttholes think they are above heir constituents ... Thank you Mr. Trump for opening the eyes of the conservative community! I will never again after I vote for Mr. Trump, will never again vote Republican Party lines! so help me God! Anyway you can’t distinguish between a Republican and a liberal anymore they both equal the same, rinos and rats separated at birth ....identical twins! Even if Trump wins the rinos will give him a hell of time in office!!

Rookie RINO-ette was never seriously considered.

Ernst is a conservative who served in Kuwait and wants to abolish the IRS. OK by me. Rookie? Yep but she's served longer in government than Trump has. I would not write her off. We need more like her in the Senate. Having said that I have no problem leaving her where she is. The purpose of the VP is to help get Trump elected. That's about it.

"does he become defacto house speaker again?"

No, but he would be President of the Senate and COULD run for House Speaker, as could any US Citizen.

What’s with the disparaging naming Newt Gingrich as “Noot?” Go post you crap over on MoveOn or HuffingtonPost.
