Trump needs Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida.
Without these 3 states, he doesn’t have a chance.
And he’s really far behind in Florida. He needs to camp out there and hire thousands of people.
Other than IN I can’t think of a single state from MN to ME that Trump can win; ditto, IL to MD.
The term “Noot” has often been used at FRee Republic. And FYI, I’ve been here just as long as you have.
My posting history speaks for itself.
No loss, doubt she was ready or to be picked anyway.
Joni is NOT ready for Prime Time just yet. Neither is/was my Governor Walker.
BUT - expect GREAT THINGS from them both in the future!
One thing about the GOPe - they don’t spend much, if any, time grooming their Field Team like the ‘Rats do!
But, nobody listens to me...
She wasn’t a good choice anyway.
“Joni is NOT ready for Prime Time just yet. Neither is/was my Governor Walker.

That also is the way I see it.
I wish Texas Gov Abbott would be a VP consideration!
Don’t forget about Gens. Michael Flynn or Stanley McChrystal, neither of whom I know much about, but I think Trump loves our military and so they may be his top pick. Regarding Pence, just no. He’s wishy-washy.
Santorum has a very negative reputation with the gay population, so he’s out. I don’t mean “negative.” I mean VERY negative. They even named a bodily fluid after him last time around. (Update your anti-virus before searching for that; one of the top Google hits tried to infect me a fews years ago.)
People already said that Newt was made for Chief of Staff, and I agree. He’ll be the most useful to Trump in that role.
Any sitting senator needs to stay in the Senate, especially someone strong like Sessions. We’ll need people like him in the future. The other Senators who ran against Trump were Rubio and Rand Paul, both of whom are running for re-election.
Christie needs to be Attorney General, with maybe Rick Perry at Homeland Security.
Palin is too marginalized; besides, she’s likely going to Dept. of Energy to drill, baby, drill!
That leaves former Gov Brown, Mike Huckabee, the two generals, and Lt Col West, plus anyone else we don’t know about yet and anyone I’m forgetting.
My money is on Trump picking one of the Generals or Lt Col West, who has both military and legislative experience. (I don’t know if West supports Trump, though. He was supporting Cruz.)
OR, my personal favorite and long shot choice — Judge Jeanine. ;-) They’ve known each other for 30+ years and are good friends, but she’s like Newt in that she’ll tell him when he’s wrong about something.
“We should start a Draft LtCol West campaign.”
I suggest we contact the colonel first. Is he now on the Trump train?
The Nazi Pelousy thing doesnt mean much to me.
Newt, Born: June 17, 1943 (age 73), SEVENTY-THREE.... OLDER than Trump
Newt Gingrich, was the Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999
SEVENTEEN years ago. Everybody Newt knew is DEAD /s
TOO OLD, TOO MALE, TOO UNPREDICTABLE (goes off the reservation from time to time)
Please NOT Pence.
“Remember when choosing a running mate, the rule is Do No Harm!”
AMEN, bro
No it can’t be West. Great guy, some other job. Not VP
Has sessions been ruled out?
Hopefully so. He would cost Trump a lot of votes among Independents and cross-over Democrats. Those are votes that Trump (or any national candidate) needs.
The fact that he hasn't been mentioned just means that he very possibly could be the VP choice. That's assuming he's not in the NeverTrumper crowd. I've lost track of him in the past year, so i'm really not sure where he stands.
Regardless, Trump has no doubt picked someone that's not on anyone's radar. That's typical Trump. lol!
Not House Speaker, but President of the Senate.
Why not West? Please elaborate if you don’t mind. I haven’t kept up with him.

The ultimate irony: The Cruz NeverTrumpers have managed to create a self-fulfilling prophesy by Cruz not endorsing Trump and trying to steal delegates. Their lack of support has put Trump in the position of not being able to select a "conservative" VP. If Trump picks someone who is perceived to be "too far right," then he'll lose those important Independents and cross-over Dems.
And the Independents and cross-over voter blocs will be crucial because they'll be replacing the Cruz holdouts -- the holdouts who refuse to vote Trump because "he's not conservative enough."
