Donald Trump's Dream Veep Is Newt Gingrich

The former House Speaker brings experience and still terrifies Democrats

Even nearly 20 years since he departed Congress, Newt Gingrich is still the most feared Republican in America. ...

The current Republican leadership is an unimpressive lot. They seem to be placeholders waiting for principled leaders like the former Speaker of the House to emerge. President Obama's hijacking of the constitutional power of the legislative branch—without cost or pain—would never have happened under a Gingrich-led Congress. ...

Republicans across the spectrum agree that Newt would be Donald Trump's best asset on the campaign trail this fall and a seasoned point-man in a Trump administration. ...

The former Speaker, one of the most innovative and formidable politicians in America, is a Churchillian figure. That kind of selection by Mr. Trump would, first, telegraph the caliber of people that he plans to bring to his administration; second, lend insight into the sort of selection he plans to make for Supreme Court Justices and third, show the type that Trump would elevate in military leadership. ...

And yes, Newt is not perfect. But, as former Texas Governor Rick Perry said of Newt and perfection in his concession speech for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, "who among us is?" Perry is right; he echoes John 8:7: "The one sinless among you, let him cast the first stone."

In March of 2007 Newt admitted to adultery in an interview with Dr. James Dobson, during a Focus on the Family broadcast. "I've gotten on my knees and sought God's forgiveness," he said. ... ...

Since one of the premier responsibilities of the VP is to campaign for the party and to take down the opponent, Newt's political skill and historical insight would be a nightmare for Hillary Clinton.

...

I'm pulling for Newt.

Back in the 90’s Gingrich said when he met with Bill Clinton he just melts. i.e. Clinton charms him and gets what he wants.

Well, that does it for me... I think Newt is therefore not eligible to be VP.

Trump needs a minority conservative like Milwaukee sheriff David Clarke.

I like him. Because he's un-PC and possesses courage and integrity. +1

As much as I love Newt, he would be a negative for the women’s vote. The Democrats love to play identity politics. Newt would be portrayed as a trophy wife hunter, which is a turnoff for women. I myself am happy that Newt found the love of his life marrying Callista. I have met her and she is absolutely adorable. It illustrates what a terrific guy Newt actually is. Think of it. Callista is a woman who could attract any man out there. She is smart, beautiful and has a wonderful personality. Because she chose Newt tells you the true attractiveness of his character.

However, the Democrats are brutal and they know how to play the sexist card. They will play easily manipulated women like a tin drum against Newt with the distorted narrative about his failed marriages. It would cause a distraction from the issues central to Hillary’s fitness for office. I don’t call them DemonRATs for nothing.
