Donald Trump, speaking in North Carolina, just praised deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein as a killer of terrorists, noting that Hussein didnt read them the rights before executing them.
Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? He was a bad guy. Really bad guy, Trump begins. But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didnt read them the rights, they didnt talk. They were a terrorists - it was over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism.
Hussein was labelled a major sponsor of terrorism by the American government for decades, a status that was a major plank in the rationale to invade Iraq in 2003.

You are debating truth. It is very hard. God bless you and your family.
Any other RINO would be cowering and apologizing already.
And Trump was right.
We should have contained SoDamn Hinsane like we did to Khadaffy. We never had a peep out of him after Reagan leveled his palace while he was in a tent 100 yards away
NeverTrumpers are democrats. Period.
I have pondered that. I have not gone there. I never thought GWB was smart. I think he was easily manipulated. I see him pursuaded to disregard the facts and international law by Chaeney, Rumseld and a guy with other motives, Paul Wolfowitz , later fired from the “ world bank” (where we take your money and fund kick backs) for giving his whore a $300,000 a year job. “Wolfy” was fighting Israel’s wars— not ours. Check me out.
The Iraq War was a catastrophe for Christianity and the west, and a shameful time for the majority at FR, who couldn’t wait to go to war.
“Honestly. Do you think anything Trump states will be construed, reported on, conveyed, in any accurate fashion by the MSM (Pravda) press?”
Comparing the American MSM to Pravda is an insult...to Pravda. Pravda actually was less biased than our MSM.
Exactly..after actually reading AND hearing what Trump said, he was NOT praising Saddam Hussein, he said REPEATEDLY that Hussein is a “bad guy” he did say that Hussein did kill terrorists, are things better off now in Iraq when Hussein was in power, Hussein was a dictator and now you have ISIS who is cutting off heads
“This wont go over well but I think we went in there beacause GWB wanted to make daddy proud”
You’ll get no argument from me on that. Saddam tried to kill “Daddy” so Saddam had to go, no matter the cost.
In reality and I said this many times on FR, the sikes picot agreement after WWI was one of the worst mistakes the west has ever made, we should have got some out own damned oil else where and stayed out of that world.
Good point.
The media have marching orders to portray Trump as a crazy bigot. They will take things out of context, quote the reactions from his enemies and clutch at the most ridiculous straws, such as calling Trump an antisemite because of a badge graphic.
Then the GOPe in the form of Paul Ryan validates the smear.
Trump could be the most diplomatic sunnofabitch in human history and it wouldn’t protect him from the slander of the Uniparty, amplified by a willing media.
Every time this crap happens and he doesn’t cave to the concern trolls, he wins more votes by telling the truth and not speaking like a polished, lawerly political eunuch.
Trump will win unless he tones it down.

"Saddam supported groups that either associated directly with al Qaeda (such as the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, led at one time by bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri) or that generally shared al Qaeda's stated goals and objectives."From: "Iraqi Perspectives Project Saddam and Terrorism: Emerging Insights from Captured Iraqi Document" DODBecause Saddam's security organizations and Osama bin Laden's terrorist network operated with similar aims (at least in the short term), considerable overlap was inevitable when monitoring, contacting, financing, and training the same outside groups. This created both the appearance of and, in some way, a 'de facto' link between the organizations. At times, these organizations would work together in pursuit of shared goals but still maintain their autonomy and independence because of innate caution and mutual distrust. Though the execution of Iraqi terror plots was not always successful, evidence shows that Saddam's use of terrorist tactics and his support for terrorist groups remained strong up until the collapse of the regime."
"I declare, it gives me the vapors!" |
>>”The media have marching orders to portray Trump as a crazy bigot.”
We agree there, but I think he’s making it way too easy for them with this kinda stuff.
>>”Trump will win unless he tones it down.”
Not suggesting toning it down, just not foot-shooting and staying disciplined and on-message. Today should have been organized and focused on this:

not debating whether Saddam was a good anti-terrorist. That’s just a losing argument and a gift to Hillary.
God bless and protect you and your family also.
Don’t you think
the fact was there were no terrorists in his country.....
??
No terrorist in Iraq? Really.
Is Saddam the best we can do for a model of an anti-terrorist leader?
This whole debate is nuts and a gift to the democrats. Today of all days.
From my previous cites:
The Pentagon papers on Saddam state:
“under Saddam, the Iraqi regime used its paramilitary Fedayeen Saddam training camps to train terrorists for use inside and outside Iraq. In 1999, the top ten graduates of each Fedayeen Saddam class were specifically chosen for assignment to London, from there to be ready to conduct operations anywhere in Europe.”[13] Saddam was training non-Iraqi’s to carry out terrorist actions throughout Europe.
he Pentagon papers on Saddam go on to explain the following specific training that was supplied in Iraq:
“Re-equipping and training Palestinian fighters in al-Quds training camps [in Iraq].
Establishing and activating a course to train Arab Liberation Front fighters on martyrdom operations.
Establishing fighter schools for Arab volunteers and later Iraqi volunteers.
Re-establishing and re-equipping the military base of the Arab Liberation Front.
Training groups from the occupied territories [Palestine] on light weapons and tanks in secret thirty-day courses.” [14]
State Support of Terrorism
Saddam provided support to terrorists that only a state could provide by issuing passports to known terrorists so they could move about freely. The Pentagon papers on Saddam state the
“M8 annual report also notes that among the 699 passports, renewals, and other official documentation that the IIS issued, many were issued to known members of terrorist organizations.”[15]
A specific example of Saddam issuing passports to and harboring a known terrorist is Abu aI-Abbas, a Palestinian Liberation Front leader. Saddam allowed Abu aI-Abbas and his wife to live in Iraq under Saddam’s protection. Saddam went so far as to issue both Abu aI-Abbas and his wife diplomatic passports so they could travel the Middle East freely. “Abu aI-Abbas originally fled to Iraq to avoid an Italian warrant imposing five life terms for his part in the 1985 hijacking of the Italian cruise liner Achille Lauro and the murder of an American citizen.” [16]
and on and on.
Saddam Hussein should not be the GOP’s model anti-terrorist leader. It’s a really counter-productive debate to engage in.
I suggest you stop debating if you think such debate is counter productive
QED
Trump has made this exact point at virtually every rally speech since he entered the race.
