Donald Trump, speaking in North Carolina, just praised deposed Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein as a killer of terrorists, noting that Hussein “didn’t read them the rights” before executing them.
“Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? He was a bad guy. Really bad guy,” Trump begins. “But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them the rights, they didn’t talk. They were a terrorists - it was over. Today, Iraq is Harvard for terrorism.”
Hussein was labelled a major sponsor of terrorism by the American government for decades, a status that was a major plank in the rationale to invade Iraq in 2003.

Heard it and it was a great speech..............Trump was right, plain and simple.
The fact is, Trump is right. Saddam WAS a nasty piece of work, however Iraq is now a terrorist swamp, and our remaining troops there are up to their neck in proverbial alligators.
Trump always opposed the Iraq invasion, Hillary Rotten Criminal voted FOR it.
The only benefit to the invasion of Iraq was Gadaffi in Libya being frightened enough to turn over HIS nuclear program to the U.S. and the U.K., and he was farther along than anyone suspected. He wanted to rehabilitate Libya’s image and somehow rejoin the community of nations, but Hillary made her infamous “we came, we saw, he DIED! (cue cackle)” and now Libya is just as much a terrorist swamp as is Iraq.

There is some truth... bad as he was, Saddam was a check on Iran. Presidents today must win their wars and win the peace within their terms. Though of questionable wisdom the Iraq war was successful... but that success was thrown away by Democrats and Obama. Recall Harry Reid declaring the war lost?

This is a stretch to criticize Trump on. It’s call contrast......Saddam was horrible but at least he had enough sense to go after the terrorists quickly and swiftly compared to this administration and U.S. politicians want to patty-cake be PC about everything involving terrorists and radical Islam

Yep. I know all the neo-cons and Democratic war mongers many who in fact were against the war in Iraq anyway, want to make hay over this but the fact of the matter he put dissension and Jihadists movements down brutally. That’s why they feared him.

Saddam was a bad guy, but ISIS would not be what it is today—or here within our borders—if he was still around.
He did not tolerate the extremist terrorists.
