Joni Earnst, she is a #nevertrump, she is # 2, too close in the vote to Newt.

I voted for Newt, some of the names on the list are also losers.

Newt died when he resigned from Congress. Somebody just forgot to flush.

Joni Ernst picked Rubio to vote for, so one assumes she is for open borders, amnesty and no wall.

Then if memory serves when Rubio dropped out she went to Cruz.
Cruz was also for a lot more H1b visas, and for path to citizenship for illegals.

I gave Ernst money, and that was because she was a Tea Party person. Not true, she is establishment.

Ernst, Branstad urge party unify behind Trump

News
May 22nd, 2016 by Ric Hanson

The Iowa G-O-P held its state convention Saturday, with key Republican office-holders signalling the party’s continuing shift toward its presumptive presidential nominee. Senator Joni Ernst did not say Donald Trump’s name, but she addressed the “Never Trump” movement and told the crowd the country needs a Republican in the White House.

Ernst said “I have heard a number of folks say: ‘I will not support this candidate.’ ‘I will not support that candidate.’ ‘Never this person.’ ‘Never that person. But I tell you what, folks. We’ve got to come together, because you know what my motto is going to be this year? Never Hillary! Never!”

I am pleased and relieved that so far, Sarah Palin is not on this list. She can be of help within the Trump Administration, should it happen. I would be fine with Newt. It’s going to take someone who is not fully dem or republican in the classic sense of the term. Not even most voters are that cut and dried linear in their beliefs anymore. You could say Newt is a ‘Cafeteria Capitalist’. It’s going to take someone with a warriors heart and a lawyer’s mind.

Newt has way too much baggage. He would be a bad choice.

The FIRST issue isn’t WHO but WHAT.

WHAT is the single most important criteria for Trump’s VP? Someone who can take over the Presidency in eight years to continue the job of reinstating political freedom and the Constitution as the Rule of law in America.

Trump’s VP must be a person who in eights years, is ready, willing, and able to lead the effort to dismantle the unconstitutional 80% of the $4 trillion central government, leaving it the size of about $800 billion. Get rid of most of the unconstitutional cabinet bureaucracies. Nuke the utterly unconstitutional Administrative State from which all these unilateral, tyrannical, unconstitutional, and obnoxious executive laws (”regulations”) come from. Send hundreds of thousands of government workers, bureaucratic heads, and officials home packing. Sad day for them, but a great day for America and our Free Constitutional Republic.

Otherwise, this “Trump Movement” will be merely a speed bump on the Road to Serfdom as Hayek put it and as the Regan Revolution turned out to be because of the short-sighted choice of Bush as VP. Trump CANNOT make the same mistake.

WHO it is should be IMO, consistent with the anti-establishment push of this movement. Trump should pick an “unknown” - a talented, wise, and wealthy non-politician who loves America, probably a good businessman, who has a fire in his belly to do away with political correctness and tyranny and to put the central government into its constitutional cage. He’ll have eight years to figure out what he needs to know about the job. Also, a wealthy person, like Washington, Reagan, and Trump, would be less tempted to cash in on political expediency because he is already wealthy.

Newt seems to be the 2d choice of most whose candidates did not make the cut. Joni is too new/inexperienced. Trump needs someone that exudes beltway experience. Newt does that yet he himself has always been outside the Bush-Romney-McCain-McConnell establishment.

1st Priority, Life Insurance: Needs to be somebody the establishment would hate to see become President if “something happened” to President Trump. His enemies will literally stop at nothing. This is a very real danger.

2nd Priority: Someone who can carry on the Trump revolution 8 years from now. No way are we giving the country back to the establishment.

In other words, DO NOT make the mistake Reagan made when he picked Bush.

NOT Newt: Too old, weak on fake global warming, etc. But might be a great Chief of Staff.

NOT any of the “NeverTrump” crowd, or any politician who has not already endorsed Trump. That ship has sailed.

Sarah Palin comes to mind, but I think she would cost him votes. We simply cannot afford to lose this one. The fate of the world hangs in the balance.

So... How about Sessions as VP for his 1st term, and Palin in the cabinet? Four years from now, Palin for VP.

Eight years from now, President Palin?

I can always dream...

I hoped for a military person-—maybe a retired general that actually saw Muslims kill American soldiers.

The agita this would cause liberals would be a delight to see.

Then again-—Trump already solidified the military vote-—he should pick someone who gives him a voting bloc.

Jeff Sessions; he actually has principle, is for borders, and isn’t some attempt to pander to a demographic, which is playing on Democrat turf anyway.

Are these the really bad choices that are meant to make us appreciate a lesser evil that will be chosen later?

Why all of sudden is it required that Trump names his V.P.?

Why all the excitement about Trump's V.P.? I have never seen this with Barky, didn't see it with the Bushes, didn't see it with Clinton, either time...so why with Trump?

Do some people think he doesn't have the brains God gave a piss ant to pick his own person for V.P., that some dead brain media twits need to do it? And I'm not talking about Drudge...I'm talking about the rest...

It's just like the convention, it's TRUMP'S convention, not anyone else’s ... he is THE NOMINEE!!! Do you see anyone else out on the ‘campaign trail’ besides Trump? NO you don't, so what's all the ‘grasping at pearls’ about???

Trump will make HIS OWN decision, we'll have to wait and see who it is...if that offends you, why aren't you running for office so you can have people pick your people????
