If elitism is talking over the party, the meaning is not that everyone who calls themselves Democrat is an elitist. It means that the elites have successfully figured out how to manipulate the masses within the party. Which means if you’re a Democrat you’re either a member of the elite, or think you are, or you’re a gullible idiot. This is what Democrats call “freedom”. It’s the freedom to wonder whether you are among the elites or among the gullible. The current Democrat Party has no resemblance to the party of JFK and Hubert Humphrey. Starting with the takeover by McGovernites in the early 70s the party has lurched ever leftward and has embraced not only socialism, but anti Americanism..

She’s an elitist who thinks people who support Trump are racists and bigots, but she realizes that “elitist” sounds bad so she wants to free herself from that label by talking about having grown up in flyover country. She thinks Hillary may win in a landslide but she worries about white males who may just keep their views to themselves and vote for Trump. So she wants her party to be more careful about disguising the contempt they have for white males. It shouldn’t be hard because white males are so dumb they won’t realize they are being condescended to—at most they have gone to a state college (horrors!), not an elite university.
So she Admits Obama showered red states with fake recovery dollars so libs would believe the lies but she is worried that areas he starved of jobs - shovel ready or not - may not want 4 years of the same.
