I saw him (with Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays) as Joni Mitchell’s “Shadows & Light” tour.
Wow. Lucky you! I saw Weather Report in the early 1980s, in Ann Arbor. I think what you saw would have been better. I've watched most of on YouTube, really like the style of Free Man in Paris in that tour. Joni Mitchell is a musical treasure, batty, but musical genius.
Yeah, well, I have feeling Jaco wasn't afraid to go anywhere. You never know, not even in the so-called "good" places (although your odds are better there!)
